Kogi Poly: 25 Students Arrested In Connection With Lecturer’s Death

Twent-five students of the Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, have been arrested in connection with the killing of a senior lecturer in the institution, Mr Nathaniel Abimaje, at the weekend.
Addressing the press in his office, on Monday, the Rector of the polytechnic, Prof. Matthew Ajibero, blamed ethnic and tribal tensions among the students in the campus for the crisis which led to the killing of the lecturer.
He stated that some Igala and Ebira students have been having a running battle among themselves for quite some time for reasons best known to them and that inspite of the series of interventions of the school authorities, violence broke out last Friday evening.
