Transfer Gossip


  • Here is more from Bacary Sagna on talk linking him with a move back to France in the summer. He told Le Sport
    At Arsenal, in the dressing room they tease me every day telling me I will leave to play at PSG, but it is speculation. I don't know what is going to happen. I could very well extend my contract here in London but equally I could leave at the end of the season. I only have one year left on my contract. We will see.



  • Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has hinted he could leave the club this summer after admiting he was flattered by interest from Paris Saint Germain and Monaco.


  • There are several reports in the morning papers that Manchester City will make a double raid on Spanish side Malaga for coach Manuel Pellegrini and midfielder Isco.


  • Swansea
     are close to signing Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, 20, on loan and have also reached an agreement with 25-year-old Real Betis midfielder Jose Canas who is out of contract this summer, according to the Daily Mail.



  • The Times reports that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night as Wigan were relegated to watch Latics winger Callum McManaman and midfielder James McCarthy.



  • Newly-promoted Hull City are favourites to land Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, with West Ham and Swansea also in the hunt, according to reports in The Sun and theDaily Mirror.



  • Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke expects to be rewarded with a new contract after helping the club secure their Premier League status. His agent Eris Kismet said: "We did the transfer deal last summer with Aston Villa with a lot of respect. We hope that discussions on a new contract will be done in the same way."



  • England boss Roy Hodgson hopes star striker Wayne Rooney will sort out his future after recently having a transfer request rejected by Manchester United. He said: "It's a matter for Wayne and Manchester United. I'm sure it will all get sorted between them. As far as I am concerned, it's about what he does for England."






  • Marouane Chamakh believes there is a chance that he will return to Bordeaux as he does not expect to stay at Arsenal. The Moroccan is currently on loan at West Ham United but has struggled to make an impact in the Premier League and missed life in France.



  • Speaking after captaining Chelsea to Europa League glory, Frank Lampard gave the strongest hint yet that he will be signing a new contract at Stamford Bridge. Lampard says it is looking good and he is hoping to agree a deal once he holds further talks with the club.
