Letter of the week

ACN’s politicking

To me, the Action Congress of Nigeria is building a reputation of enemy -of- progress for itself rather than the progressive party it claims to be. The party by its many actions in recent times has portrayed itself as an attack-dog for the so-called opposition parties. This is quite unfortunate. Being called an opposition party is not and should not be taken as a ticket for irrationality especially on a serious issue as national security. The ACN should learn to be constructive in its criticism and be quiet if it does not have any reasonable thing to say. This idea of playing to the gallery in the name of opposition is unhelpful. As far as the state of emergency to check this criminal impunity is concerned, the ACN should know that Nigerians are in support of the President.
